Pheromones FAQ

FAQ / Q&A

Q: I've heard a lot about animal pheromones in science class. Do they really work with humans?! It seems a little too good to be true.

A: Yes, it's indeed true that some animals use pheromones to a much greater extent than humans. Don't forget that, or a marketer will convince you otherwise. Over the years, we have tended to lose our dependency our own human pheromones, because quality of life has improved and our frontal lobe enables us to make different choices than our bodies necessarily desire. Less reproduction is required to procreate and continue existence, in the case of humans, than in the case of animals like bees or deer.

However, does this mean human pheromones aren't effective? No! In fact, they are still a part of our senses, but not usually a big part of what our bodies give off. Additional human pheromones (that complement your own with a high level of effectiveness) can be an unexpected knockout punch for a member of the opposite sex. Results have also been documented (and witnessed by yours truly) in social groups of the same sex, too, like alpha-male pheromones changing the collective mood of an entire group.

Q: Does it take time for pheromones to work?

A: Pheromones work immediately after you put them on, though to become indistinguishably mixed with natural pheromones, it might take the following few minutes. Because they are entirely airborne, like any scent, they permeate nearby air immediately. If you are wearing human pheromones cologne or perfume and a member of the opposite sex is nearby, you can expect a reaction. Just be careful about wearing too much.

Q: How do you use pheromones?

A: You can apply human pheromones just like you would cologne or perfume, but do not put on too much, especially men. Only a little is needed to see results, and there is often a miniscule difference between "what a hottie!" and "that dude needs a shower!" It's generally a good idea to experiment first with human pheromones colognes or perfumes on your skin, rather than on your clothes. Because of the high levels of heat emanating from your body, and due to the oils that are released through the pores of your skin, the pheromones will dissipate more quickly and more intensely when on the skin.

Women shouldn't have to worry as much about putting on too much human pheromones perfume scent, but like any scent, too much will certainly be overpowering. Always use discretion when using human pheromones.

Q: What are the ingredients in human pheromones colognes? What about human pheromones perfumes?

A: Every company on the market has its own special pheromone mixes. Most of the human pheromone colognes on the market contain androstenone, androstenol, and/or androsterone. Human pheromone perfumes can sometimes include androstenol, just like in colognes - but they can also contain androstadienone and/or copulins. If you want to read about what each of these actually do, look for the article about "ingredient listing" in our secret pheromones tips and tricks section.

Q: Are pheromones safe? Should I be aware of any long-term health problems?

A: Yes, pheromones are perfectly safe. Remember, our own bodies give off pheromones, too! Since you aren't drinking or ingesting anything, there is no risk involved at all! They are simply worn on the skin or clothing, and there has been absolutely no evidence of human pheromone cologne and perfume products changing the actual "built-in" pheromone mix in people, either - they are meant to evaporate.

Q: How can you afford to do a site like this? What's the catch?

A: To be completely honest, our hope is that you'll visit some of our sponsors in the links section if you enjoy our services. It'll help pay for our college costs, and anything above that will be pumped into more pheromones research. We did not make this site to profit greatly. Human Pheromone Reviews gives out free information even to those who decide not to support us. If you'd really like to help, but do not wish to purchase from our sponsors, the best thing that you can do for us is tell your friends! We'd love to get more input from human pheromones users from all around the world, and the best way to help us is simply by spreading the good word.

There's no catch. Our hope is that you recognize that we're only doing this as an act to shed light on the grey area that the human pheromones market has come to be.
